Marie-France Scott
Twenty years ago, I retrained as traditional film animator, however when this became almost completely digital and computer driven, I turned to painting and making multi-media sculptures.
This led me to working with clay and I immediately felt it was the right medium for me. My first studio and training was at ANG Pottery Studio in Baltimore, USA with Andrew Goldstein. I then moved to Anguilla, West Indies where I worked at "Studio Tingis" alongside Brenda and Chris Lawrence for just under two years.
In 2018, I moved to London, where I share studio space at Petr Weigl Studios in Wood Green.
I am interested in geometry, pure lines and the relationship between forms. I try to find the right balance between harmony and tension, which I believe is key for a piece to have vitality.
